Introduction to the error code 6190 and 816:-

When you try to open your Company or business file on Windows system and that file is not accessible and the error message is:

“Error -6190, -816 “ describe QuickBooks was unable to open the file [path] on the host computer.”

      Reasons for this error occurrence?

Majorly there are two important reasons:

This error may occur when there is a discrepancy between transaction log file(.tlg) and QuickBooks Workbook files (spreadsheet) .qbw file.

This error may also occur due to update failure. If the .qbw file is being updated on another computer without the .tlg file.
